CAROUSEL NISSAN COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

We're proud to be involved in our community, and to help out the people who live here. Here are a few of the organizations we sponsor, and the events we are involved with:

IOWA CHILDREN'S OPEN

This local golf tournament came about in 2010 when former Hawkeye and now retired placekicker for the San Diego Chargers, Nate Kaeding, and the CVB wanted to transform the Nate Kaeding Golf Tournament into an even bigger and more successful event. We are grateful to have Nate & Sam Kaeding and Kirk & Mary Ferentz as tournament hosts.

The proceeds raised will go to support both the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and The Iowa Children’s Museum, two local organizations that have been collaborating together over the years to improve the quality of life for children and families.

HAVLIFE MARTINI SHAKE-OFF

The Martini Shake Off™ is HAVife's largest annual fundraiser to achieve our mission of Preventing Lost Potential™ by supporting youth participation in music, athletics, and arts activities. Each year, we award more than $75,000 to local non-profits in support of this mission. The event features martini and craft cocktail samples from the finest restaurants in the area, delicious food, and live music.

RedZone is a place where young players learn the most critical and fundamental elements of football. We teach the physical skills and personal qualities that are important in developing good football players, good students, good citizens, and great leaders. We’re confident that your player will not only raise his level of play in our RedZone, but the experience will lead him to love the sport forever & teach him some of life’s greatest lessons through a game.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois helps families with sick children stay close to each other and the care they and resources they need, when they need it most.

Through the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City and our Family Rooms in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, we help remove the barriers that separate families while they receive treatment for a critically ill or injured child. We’re more than just a place to stay—our House and Family Rooms provide the essential comforts of home: warm beds, hot showers, home-cooked meals, kitchen and laundry facilities, a playground, recreation areas, and more. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois welcomes families from all backgrounds.

PAST COMMUNITY EVENTS

Growing for Good - Community Foundation of Johnson County

Johnson County communities are working in concert with the Community Foundation of Johnson County to raise awareness of needs and opportunities in their communities, and raising funds to meet those goals. Carousel Nissan was a sponsor for this event in 2014.

Carousel Nissan Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Through Mammograms in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids Areas

Carousel Motors and Carousel Nissan has created a fund to help women pay for mammograms in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and surrounding areas, in support of breast cancer awareness. The dealerships are working with Bras for a Cause, St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids and Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Bras for the Cause is in it's sixth year serving the women in the state of Iowa," said Marcia Munger, a board member with Bras for the Cause. "Mainly our events were centered around Des Moines, but as we've grown, people like Carousel Motors and Carousel Nissan of Iowa City are helping us expand our network and message. We think it's great that a local business has been able to do something that can make such an impact on women in their own area. Carousel's effort began in 2011 with the donation of one mammogram per car sold in the last 10 days of October 2011. It worked out to $8,300 to Bras for a Cause, an organization that keeps money local to be used for women uninsured or under-insured so that they could afford mammograms.
